This website came about as a way to tell the history of the B&O Railroad (it came before the museum rebranding and was entirely coincidental). Instead of relying entirely upon pre-made websites and templates, this website was created entirely with HTML & CSS. While the history is mostly abridged and simple, it still tells brief segments of history that educates its readers.
All of the illustrations were done by hand to punctuate each historical period. Each of the trains is reflective of the historical period that it came from.
The layout of the pages are quite simple, with most of the attention being put on the illustrations themselves. The color scheme is made to reflect the historic colors of the Baltimore & Ohio, blue and gold. Along with that, the timeline is kept simple in order to guide users along through the site.
